Electronics, music, utility and heart

Utility and heart … just seeing this, i had this feeling of… how cool and satisfying must have it been to work with this technology – a relay computer. i mean doesn’t it sound almost as if it speaks to you? i remember watching some of the old movies, of old engines and people who knew their cars, and they would listen to their sound and by the sound they’d know how the car/plane/boat was doing.

i just think having some meaningful sound gives character to a thing, you know?

Anyway, i am not really sure where i am going with this, or if i am managing somehow to express it well enough for it to be understood, but i think maybe sometimes we shouldn’t sacrifice such fulfilling things for speed. Speed and performance aren’t everything. Maybe having the old things as starters would be cool to allow for true discovery to happen, or for another way, otherwise it just feels like we’re locking ourselves in on a strand. But again, if you look close enough at the strand, is just the same as the other one, and probably the same insane level of discovery can be had from this one, just in a different way.

Or maybe i am just nostalgic and having a preference for things that seem to have a heart.

my_river_poem.txt

my_river_poem.txt is a poem written early when i was trying to figure out how to work with AutoGPT and learn more about AI in general.

The river flows
A never-ending journey
Through mountains and plains
Its path never swerving

It carries life
From its source to its end
A giver of sustenance
A true and loyal friend

The river flows
A symbol of strength and grace
A force of nature
That time cannot erase

YAML stuff w/ nano

Kept wondering why can’t i still somehow use TAB with YAML files. Why can’t it just output x spaces instead of tab. Apparently it’s possible.

edit ~/.nanorc

add

set tabsize 4
set tabstospaces
